CRA for Business: What You Need to Know

Learn to navigate the world of the Canada Revenue Agency! This session is geared towards sole proprietorships and partnerships (versus corporations). The CRA is a valuable resource that is here to help your business succeed. The speaker for this session is Catherine May, a Liaison Officer with the CRA based out of Vancouver Island. You will hear about:

  • How and when you need to register your business
  • How to figure out your industry code
  • How to prepare your taxes correctly
  • Your rights and responsibilities for reporting business income and expenses
  • How tax deductions work and what is an eligible business expense that you can claim
  • What records you are required to keep and maintain
  • What to expect during an audit
  • Where to access resources and support, including the new one-on-one Liaison Officer service
